Picnics and Parents
Jun 21st, 2010 by Maggie
Oh no! It’s only been 4 days and I’ve already missed a post! That’s ok, right? This is a super quick one because David’s parents just arrived and we’re about to eat (some more) strawberry rhubarb crisp made by my Chef Husband. All of the things in the previous sentence make me very happy. David, Eliot, and I took a walk to the lake and back while eating ice cream, and yesterday about 40 people from church gathered for a lovely picnic at Promontory Point. It was supposed to rain and it turned out perfect. I got to talk to lots of great people and Eliot got to play with lots of other babies. Very happy things.
Once or twice a week we post photos, videos, or updates for our friends and family who are scattered all over the place.
And we’re so glad to be here. David just handed me a wonderful little bowl of rhubarb strawberry crisp with just the perfect dollop of ice cream. I’ve gazed at Eliot 3 times tonight-and only touch him once. Don’t want to wake him but can’t wait till morning. This is going to be such a special week!
Yumm! That crisp sounds wonderful.! We are enjoying our “local” strawberries, which are so good.! The season only lasts about 3 weeks, and then they are gone till next year.! Maybe someone would send me that recipe.!
We’re having a treat tonight-fresh crab salad.! Also enjoying the first really summerlike day.! Jessica came with a new pool and the kids played in the backyard.! Fun!
Dolores,
We just use the crisp recipe in the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook – do you have that one? Fresh crab salad sounds wonderful!
