end of the week links

- One of my sister’s (Anne Marie) friends had her first article published at BBC News about the pollution in Ulan Bator.
- A bunch of links for different stations of the cross installations. HT Jesus Creed
- 10 Steps to Restore the United State’s Moral Authority by Human Rights Watch. I guess this assumes the US had the moral authority at some point.
- China and Darfur and the 2008 Olympic Games. It is important to remember that this should not, in my strongly held view, be a campaign to boycott the Olympics: a boycott would defeat the whole purpose of the campaign, and be deeply divisive. Moreover, if a boycott were successful (extremely unlikely) the political platform from which to challenge China would disappear. Further, a boycott in and of itself achieves nothing: the challenge is to shame China, to hold Beijing’s leaders accountable, to make them understand that without exerting all necessary pressure on Khartoum, the current campaign will only grow in strength and visibility right up to the Opening Ceremonies.
- Has Jesus’ tomb been found? Was he married to Mary? Probably not!
Once or twice a week we post photos, videos, or updates for our friends and family who are scattered all over the place.
